My Professional Background

My career began at Human Potential Research, Inc. where I was trained to help clients understand the timing and nature of change in their lives. I often worked with individuals in the midst of major life transition who were facing a wide range of personal, spiritual and professional challenges. After 18 months, I started my own consulting practice.

For six years I taught courses on the spiritual nature of personal and social change as a member of the Adjunct Faculty of Antioch University West. I have lectured at national conferences about personal and spiritual development and life transitions. Since beginning my career as a Personal Change Consultant in 1974, I have worked with over 2000 clients worldwide focusing mainly on women in transition.

About My Coach Training

I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), credentialed by the International Coach Federation, and a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), trained by The Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, CA. And I am an Authorized Life Blueprint Facilitator.

I have coached well over 120 clients, and logged over 1800 professional coaching hours. My clients are located throughout North America, in Europe and the Far East.

About My Relationship with San Francisco

As you may have gathered, I have an ongoing romance with the beautiful city of San Francisco, where I have lived for many years. It was in 2001, while I was temporarily living in London, and feeling quite homesick, that I decided both to begin my coach training, and to become "San Francisco Coach." Not long thereafter, I moved back home, began my training and built the first version of this web site.

The photos on this site reflect my experience of San Francisco in her many guises and moods. The photo on this page captures the spirit of both the fun and sophistication that this city offers. It was taken in 1998 by my sister Verna, when we took her kids, my niece Kaitlin and my nephew Sean, to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art where a Keith Haring retrospective was showing. The sculpture is one of Haring's wonderful pieces of public art that were scattered throughout the City at the time.

Verna's children have now grown and the family has relocated to Kentucky. Kaitlin attends university in Florida, majoring in Communications and interning at MTV in New York City, and Sean received an honorable discharge from the Air Force, after serving a tour of duty in Iraq and is moving to L.A. to start a new life.

What My Clients Say:

"We have been working together for eight months. In all my years of education, therapy and personal growth, I've never progressed as rapidly. Thank you so very much for your dedication to helping women grow and realize their full potential.

You have a gift and I am deeply grateful for your coaching. I had so many road blocks in my career. It appears as though I am speeding or better yet, flying. It feels like opportunities are abundant. I awaken each day in awe of my place in the universe.

Our telephone sessions are the highlight of my week. Each is like opening a present; not knowing what I will find but confident it is something special. I tell everyone who will listen about your services. Keep up the amazing work!"
Kay Kopit

"Great session yesterday. Your words stay with me and pop up as needed during the course of my days. Thank you."
Margaret Pevec
Boulder, CO

"Thank you so much. That session was absolutely a breakthrough! You do amazing things and I feel very blessed that you came into my life. And there are so many other women that you have helped, so keep working sister! It's amazing!"
Holly Payne
Mill Valley, CA

"The best part of coaching with you is your unfaltering ability to know what takes precedence in our work. The grand prize of a new home was a bit of a curve ball, or so it seemed on the surface. Nicki, you were so great in keeping this vision awake and alive...It was so helpful that you were able to...encourage, inspire, champion—like you got it all along—that this is a huge accomplishment for me. Mostly, it is your high voltage vibrancy, your complete availability to the moment, always appropriate and within context, that made our brief coaching so wonderful."
